I am a freelance information professional based in Brisbane, Australia.

Consultancy

My current consultancy projects include activities in the academic library, public library and the National/State library sectors. I have a strong interest in the intersection between libraries and learning, with work undertaken in the areas of staff development, workforce planning, libraries as learning organisations, ePortfolios and eTextbooks.

Library and Information Science education and training

I continue to be involved in LIS education – both within Australia and overseas. While Adjunct Professor with Queensland University of Technology (QUT) I ran specialised courses including:

  • Evidence Based Library & Information Practice
  • Research Support Services for Academic Librarians
  • Essentials of Health Librarianship
  • Legal Research for Law Librarians.

As a trainer with the Building Strong Library Associations (BSLA) program run by the International Federation of Library Associations (IFLA) I have worked with information professionals in:

  • Ukraine
  • Middle East
  • South East Asia
  • South Pacific.

I am also a trainer with IFLA to develop and deliver workshops relating to the United Nations 2030 Agenda: Sustainable Development Goals.
